Welcome to The Open Book! It was quite scary to finally press the ‘Publish’ button on this website, but I’m finally here.
My name is Elke. I am a clumsy, short-haired, loud-laughtered enthusiast of anything cultural, literary, and art-ish. I live in the lovely city of Groningen in the Netherlands, where I also have a job as an English teacher at a secondary school.
Some time ago, I was asked to do a lecture on one of my favourite books. It was such a success, that I have done several lectures there. It also led to the decision to start this blog, as it will form a portfolio of the things I’ve talked and written about. Let’s hope it will lead to more public appearances, workshops, and lectures.
