Here’s a short one from me today, with a clear message: come join me at my new Book Club! Want to know what it is, and how to get there? Read on!
Some time ago, I was absent-mindedly scrolling on my Instagram feed and feeling more and more frustrated by the #bookstagram posts that all looked far too similar (featuring bookshelves organised by colour (the horror!), or book pictures and coffee, or book stacks, or a combination of them), when I suddenly stumbled upon a post about a new kind of Book Club. My eyes widened, my mouth dropped open, and my frustration turned into excitement. This looked like everything I’d always wanted in a book club.
It’s called Literal, it’s invite-only (just to avoid those Instagram people who organise their shelf by colour but forget to actually read the books in it), and I’m a member. At Literal, you can add reviews, give stars to the books you’ve read, and you can join clubs. This last part is especially great, because you can join a club about a topic of your liking, and then talk about your favourite books with the other members. And guess what? I’ve just started my own club!
My club is called The Open Book Book Club (great name, isn’t it?), and of course it’s about the books that I have discussed right here, on this blog. Unlike other book clubs, this one isn’t about one particular genre. Instead, it is about the joy of reading and the lessons we can draw from each book we’ve read. I started it not only because I want to share my blog with more people, but also because I want my little book world to be more interactive. I like to think of myself as someone who doesn’t limit herself to one type of book, but I would love to expand my universe. I want to hear about the books you know and love, and I hope that this book club will help me find more favourite books I haven’t read yet.
So if you want to learn more about your favourite books, or want to add a book to this book club so we can all share our thoughts on it, feel free to join! I’ve got some invites left, so please drop a line if you want to join me at my Open Book Book Club at Literal! I’d love to see you there!
Which books would you like me to discuss? And what do you think, is this a short post, or did I fail miserably yet again? Do let me know in the comments! Also, don’t forget to follow me for more book-related posts!
